Mental Health Specialist- Bilingual Required
Reports to the Program Manager and the Division Director
40 hours per week
Salary Range: Annual: $41,500

Specific Responsibilities:
Responsible for early prevention and intervention for students and linking resources to the communities
Duties:
- Provide school-based delivery of the in-class universal strategy and assist teachers with assessment.
- Facilitate Incredible Years for students and their parents.
- Collaborate with school staff, promotoras and the program manager to participate on the school oversight team.
- Maintain data collection and contract compliance of records as required.
- Maintain all required documents, program data and statistics.
- Remain culturally sensitive and respectful in all client and staff interactions.
- Assist family in identifying goals and specific methods to achieve their goals.
- Assist, guide and motivate family toward safe functioning as defined by agency and school standards.
- Provide support in the form of reflective listening, emotional support, strengths identification, challenge identification, and solution seeking as needed.
- Provide assistance as needed to the Promotoras to administer the Parent Stress Index and provide services and resources accordingly.
- Participate in staff meetings, supervision, staff and County trainings, and other meetings as required.
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy standards of service-partner protected health information and other applicable information and material in accordance to agency and center policies, and applicable regulations and laws including HIPAA.
- Adhere to and uphold the rigorous standards of SDYS as mandated by its mission, purpose, guiding principles and standards of quality.
Qualifications: License-eligible (MFT, MSW, MHC) by the state of California, and a minimum of three years of job-related experience, including direct service experience with at-risk, multiple families and children on school site or at home-based settings. Experience in children, family, and community development methods. Must possess excellent oral and written skills; work well autonomously, with other agencies and program staff, and with multiple people and disciplines. Must be highly organized with the ability to focus on multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Bilingual (Spanish/Asian language) required. Must have reliable vehicle, relevant auto insurance, valid driver’s license and plus a clean driving record (mileage reimbursed). Some availability after 5:00 PM and on weekends to meet client needs.
