 The Teen Recovery Center offers treatment services for young people between the ages of 12 and 18 who are dealing with substance abuse issues.
Those taking part in the after-school treatment program are expected to make a six-month commitment, and to remain drug-and-alcohol-free during that time. There are two different types of services that are available depending on the youth’s needs: The prevention program meets twice a week, for 1 ? hour and the intervention program meets three to five times a week for 3 hours. Each youth is assigned to a case manager who guides them through their treatment goals. The Dual Diagnosis Clinician provides the family counseling and facilitates the 6 week parenting education program.
The program includes relapse prevention plans, job development and employment preparation, life skills, peer relationships, healthy family relationship, feeling and though process, cultural awareness, health awareness (HIV, STD), anger management, alcohol and drug education, as well as fun educational activities.
