Breaking Cycles 

is a multi-agency, geographically diverse project administered by the County of San Diego Probation Department. It is designed to prevent escalating juvenile delinquency. By focusing program efforts through a system of graduated sanctions on at-risk youth and their families, Breaking Cycles is improving the juvenile justice system and community response to juvenile offenders. SDYS is the lead agency providing the alcohol and drug treatment component of the Breaking Cycles project. Learn More!

 
The Bridge

provides short and long term group home placement to youth 12 to 17 years old. The goal is to provide a safe and stable living environment while trying to reunify the youth with their families. If reunification is not possible, SDYS is prepared to assist youth in finding permanent housing. Services include a 24/7 referral hotline for information and crisis counseling, as well as walk-in counseling. Learn More!


 
Bridgman Home

is the first group home in San Diego County for Deaf and hard of hearing youth. The Bridgman Home serves as a safe, culturally affirming home for youth ages 12 to 18 from all over San Diego County. Housing up to six youth, the home is staffed and supported by a culturally competent multidisciplinary team consisting of a social worker, case manager/caregiver, psychologist, psychiatrist, educator and Deaf mentor. The group home provides a therapeutic and social environment in which Deaf youth and their families can address issues that negatively impact their relationships. Learn More!

 
Counseling Cove

provides intensive, outpatient behavioral health services and case management for Seriously Emotionally Disturbed (SED) homeless and runaway children and youth (12-21 years old) utilizing a comprehensive approach that is community based, client and family driven and culturally competent.  Services are strength-based, focusing on resilience and recovery. East County Community Center

provides personalized, family-oriented support and home-based services for families with high-risk youth living throughout the vast East County Region of San Diego. Family assessments, counseling, case management and the Cool Bed respite service for youth and their parents in crisis are offered. Learn More!



 
East County Behavioral Health Clinic

 

is a full-service mental clinic funded by Early Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT). Services include individual, group and family counseling, dual-diagnosis screening, assessment and treatment, crisis intervention, psychological testing, medication evaluations and oversight. The clinic is staffed with qualified mental health clinicians, a licensed psychologist and a child and adolescent certified psychiatrist. Storefront

is a 20-bed emergency shelter and the only one in San Diego specifically designed for homeless, runaway and “street” youth. Its goals are to return young people to their families or to find alternative living arrangements and to prevent their sexual exploitation. Services begin with Street Outreach teams that find and offer resources to homeless young people. The Storefront Day Drop-In Center provides street kids with a safe place between the end of the school day and the opening of the night shelter. Learn More!

 
Teen Options

provides comprehensive services to pregnant and parenting teens and young adults (12- 25 years old) in a safe and supportive environment. Through case management and educational groups, our core services focus on recovery, independent living skills, relationships, child development and parenting, and health and nutrition. Transitional Living Communities

is a community specifically designed to break the cycle of homelessness for youth between the ages of 16 and 24, on their own (youth under the age of 18 must be legally emancipated from their parents). The goal is to empower these youth with hope through developing their ability to be self-sufficient. Take Wing focuses on teaching homeless teens, teenage moms, young families and those “aging out” of the foster care system to become independent and productive members of society. Youth Centers

are high-tech educational and recreational centers. Their mission is to prevent juvenile delinquency and improve the academic and physical fitness related skills of young people. Youth Centers is designed to serve the residents of San Diego’s central neighborhoods. Outreach workers visit neighborhood schools and organizations to inform and encourage residents to participate in our programs and activities. Learn More!
