Take Wing Testimonial 

Before I came to Take Wing, I was a 17-year-old single mom working two jobs. I could not afford my own apartment. My mom and my baby’s father were in prison and my dad was not around. For a while, we moved around staying with different relatives for short periods of time. No one was really willing to take us in. Eventually, I had to send my daughter to live with her paternal grandparents, while I slept on the couch at my grandparents’ house. We were pretty much homeless. I had heard of the Take Wing program because I had been a service partner in their Teen Options program. I attended an orientation, applied and attended several interviews. Finally, on my 18^th birthday, I moved into my own apartment with my daughter. If it had not been for the Take Wing program, I have no idea where we would be living right now. This program has allowed me to save money, work part-time and go back to school. More importantly, it has helped me become self-reliant and independent. I am blessed to be here.
